The Epidemiological Research Platform aims to contribute to the strengthening of infectious disease surveillance in Bahrain and the adoption of effective measures to save you and its spread.
AN online platform has been launched for healthcare professionals to submit information related to infectious diseases.
The epidemiologic investigation platform is aimed at helping strengthen monitoring of infectious diseases in Bahrain and take effective measures to prevent and control their spread.
“The new platform for medical professionals reports infectious diseases temporarily and easily, and connects government and personal fitness services with the Directorate of Public Health (PHD) on infectious diseases detected in those services,” said PHD Director Dr. Mohammed Al Awadhi.
He added that around 80 gyms, in addition to clinics and hospitals, have been trained and provided with special electronic login keys to smoothly report any infectious diseases.
According to the Ministry of Health’s rules on surveillance and communicable diseases, health professionals are required to report group A diseases within 24 hours. These include measles, tetanus, AIDS, HIV, cholera, typhoid fever and rabies, among other diseases.
Diseases indexed in groups B and C that will need to be reported within one week include, but are not limited to, scabies, chickenpox, malaria, syphilis, and influenza.
Group D is for zoonotic diseases, known as zoonotic diseases. These are infections that can be transmitted from inflamed animals to humans. These diseases are caused through bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi when humans touch affected animals or their habitats. Rabies, Lyme disease, and Covid-19 are examples of zoonotic diseases. Zoonotic disease prevention involves practicing smart hygiene, avoiding contact with wildlife, and properly preparing or handling animal products.
In the past, the ministry introduced fitnessalert. gov. bh, the official platform for the latest updates and advancements in fitness in Bahrain.
The online page has provided key facts and updates on the Covid-19 crisis, in addition to national efforts to publicize public fitness in Bahrain, as well as raising awareness about fitness among all members of society.
