JANUARY 11, 2023 – Editor’s Note: The following email message today via President Taylor Eighmy, Chancellor and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Kimberly Andrews Espy and Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Affairs Veronica Salazar to faculty, staff and students:
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been closely monitoring the ongoing effect of COVID-19 on UTSA networks. The fitness and protection of our students, university and staff remains our most sensible priority. San Antonio’s netpainting threat point recently moved to medium amid a spike in cases due to more infectious variants of COVID-19. Fortunately, the impact on local hospitals remains low at this time. We continue to work with state and local public fitness experts to thoroughly assess the risk point of normal campus operations, and have decided that our campus networking is expected to begin categories on January 17 as scheduled. Array As always, we encourage you to take the recommended precautions and do your part to help keep our networks fit and secure. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to get vaccinated/boostered, especially with the bivalent booster. Please continue to practice smart hand hygiene, cover up, and monitor your fitness. These practices are also effective against influenza and RSV, which are also seeing an increase in cases of late. We currently offer loose in-house testing kits for university and staff, Wellness 360 on-campus testing for students, on-campus vaccination clinics, case monitoring, and show-instance report tracking. We will remain vigilant as we follow up on other people’s return from winter break. Above all, stay home if you are sick. If you are exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19, be sure to submit a case report and follow the masking and isolation instructions that apply to you. University Control, along with the UTSA Recovery Operations Team, San Antonio Metro Health, and UT Formula Public Fitness Experts, will continue to diligently monitor the threat point for our local network paints, especially around the new variant XBB. 1. 5. , to ensure that we continue to make the most productive informed decisions to keep our Roadrunner network paints safe. To learn more about UTSA’s reaction to the pandemic and the resources available to Roadrunners, stop by the Recovery Operations website. If you have any questions, touch Recovery Operations.
Thank you for doing your part to keep you and our entire campus network healthy this semester.
