Oman’s Sur Industrial City Signs $216 Million Pact to Establish Rubber Powder Production Plant

This eco-responsible commission will be developed on an area of 230,000 m²

Muscat: On Industrial City, affiliated with the public status quo of the “Madayn” shopping areas, has signed an investment contract with Al Fairuz Projects and Investments to identify a rubber powder production plant with an investment price of RO 83 million for the first phase of the project.

Commenting on the task, engineer Abdulqadir bin Salim Al Balushi, managing director of Sur Industrial City, said the environmentally friendly task will be developed in a 230,000 m² domain and adopt tire recycling technologies. “The tire recycling task is expected to generate 212 task opportunities, 75% of which are for Omanis,” Al Balushi reported.

Ahmed bin Mohamed Washah, executive director of the project, said the rubber dust production plant will be favorable for production industries using biofuels and carbon, as they will be extracted using complex and environmentally friendly generation rather than the destructive burning of tires.

The status quo phase of the allocation is expected to begin in the last quarter of the current year, and the planned stages of the two-year structure will begin in the first part of next year.
