Oman’s Mazoon Electricity installs small-scale photovoltaic solar plants in 2021

The corporate has implemented solar energy projects with a total capacity of 8. 49 MWh

Mazoon Electricity Company, a member of the Nama Group, recorded a profit of approximately 70 million RO in 2021, up from 68. 8 million RO in 2020.

Total profit from sales, subsidies and other profits exceeded RO 369. 2 million, an expansion rate of 5%, to RO 350. 1 million last year.

The total number of subscribers reached more than 489,500, to 473,400 by 2020.

The annual report released by the company indicates that its sales profit increased by 24. 5% to reach 173 million RO last year, to 138. 9 million RO by 2020.

The number of equipment sold to other subscriber categories increased last year to 9,500 GWh, to 8,900 GWh last year. The government category fed 967 GWh of electric power last year, to 628,600 GWh by 2020. The sector category recorded a capture of 114 GWh last year, to 109,700 GWh last year.

The knowledge also showed that Mazoon Electricity Company has implemented up to 40 small-scale solar power projects, with a total capacity of 8. 49 megawatt-hours (MWh).

As part of its strategy, the company continues to work on a project to rehabilitate distribution networks in the coastal areas of Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali.

The company demonstrated that it will commit to abide by all policies issued by the Oman Investment Authority, ensure the day-to-day operations of the company and adhere to its decisions in accordance with best corporate governance practices.

The report says the number of wise meters installed through the company last year was 38,500, up from 5,500 in 2020, while prepaid meters amounted to 25,400 meters, up from 14,800 meters last year.

The report also showed that electricity losses decreased during the last year to 10. 2%, compared to 11. 1% the previous year.

The number of new connections for the following year increased from 17,400 in 2020 to 16,300 in 2021 due to decreased activity.

A total of 41 million ROs were spent on the implementation of 35 projects last year, compared to 74 projects last year, for a total charge of 79. 1 million ROs.

Lately, no less than 12 projects of RO25. 2 million are being implemented, the company added.
