Oman welcomes Bahrain-Israel standardization agreement

Istanbul

The Gulf state of Oman on Sunday welcomed a US sponsorship between Bahrain and Israel to normalize relations.

“Oman welcomes Bahrain’s sovereignty rights initiative,” the government said in a quote through the official news agency.

Oman said he “hopes that this new strategic route will contribute to the achievement of peace founded at the end of the Israeli profession of Palestinian lands and the creation of an indefinite state of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital. “

On Friday, Israel and Bahrain agreed to identify comprehensive diplomatic relations as a major component of a breakthrough between Israel and its Arab neighbors following the announcement of an agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last month.

The agreement condemned both through the Palestinian factions and through the Palestinian Authority, which withdrew its ambassador from Manama.

Bahrain is the fourth Arab country to have diplomatic relations with Israel, after Egypt in 1979, Jordan in 1994 and the United Arab Emirates in August 2020.
