Oman to resume flights on October 1

Istanbul

Oman will resume flights abroad in October after a six-month suspension to stop the coronavirus, the government announced Thursday.

“October 1st will be the date of resumption of flights to the Sultanate,” said Transport Minister Saeed bin Hamoud al-Maawali, quoted by the Omani news firm (ONA).

He also added that domestic flights would also reopen between the capital Muscat and the southern city of Salalah on the same date.

On 24 March, the government of Oman suspended all foreign and local flights at sultanate airports as a measure of opposition to coronaviruses.

As of Thursday, Oman has recorded 95,907 coronavirus infections, 885 deaths and 86,765 cures.
