Oman posts 5nine0 new COVID-1nine cases, nine deaths

Cairo: Oman recorded 590 new coronaviruses on Thursday, bringing the country’s general infections to 79159, Omani news firm ONA reported.

Newly diagnosed cases come with 496 Omanis and 94 foreign residents, the ministry of fitness said without revealing the nationality of foreign patients.

The ministry also announced new deaths by COVID-19, bringing the total number of oman deaths to 421.

The country’s overall recovery from the disease reached 61,421, the ministry reported in an update.

In recent weeks, Oman has noticed an increase in viral infections, which has led the government to tighten preventive measures.

Earlier this week, Oman began enforcing a complete blockade of its governorates for two weeks, adding Eid Al Adha, in an effort to restrict the spread of the pandemic.
