Dubai: Oman will offer a 60-day multiple-entry visa to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 enthusiasts, Hayya card holders, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism announced.
Hayya Card is the fan ID required to attend any World Cup match.
The ministry has revealed the main points of its joint programme as part of its arrangements to welcome football enthusiasts from around the world who wish to attend the long-awaited occasion that will take place from 21 November to 3 December.
At a press conference, Azzan Qasim Al Busaidi, undersecretary of the ministry and head of the program’s steering committee, said the program focuses on promoting Muscat as a major city chosen to attract World Cup enthusiasts and provide an exceptional party for enthusiasts visiting the Sultanate.
Al Busaidi said Hayya card holders will get a 60-day multiple-entry visa upon arrival, while daily round-trip flights will run between Muscat and Doha.
Visa holders can bring first-degree relatives to remain in the sultanate and can replace the visa category while staying in the sultanate.
The welcome program will come with occasions and activities, in addition to the World Cup Fan Festival, which will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre to create a festive atmosphere for football cup fans.
The program aims to provide an exceptional experience for viewers who wish to make a stopover in Oman through the visa issued to Hayya card holders. Fans will enjoy a package of packages that add competitive flight deals and transportation services.
The programme is run by a joint team under the supervision of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The team includes government and personal units, namely the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth; Royal Oman Police; Oman Tourism Development Corporation (Omran); Oman Air and airports in Oman.
