Oman and UAE invited to G20 summit in India: coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla

India has invited Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as guest countries to the G20 leaders’ summit to be held in New Delhi in September next year, India’s G20 coordinating leader Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Tuesday. presidency of the influential organization for one year, from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023.

In other words, we will have Saudi Arabia, which is already a member (of the G20), and we have also invited the UAE and Oman,” the former foreign minister said.

He spoke at a panel discussion on “India, the GCC and the G20: New Opportunities, New Opportunities”, organized as a component of the Arabian Sea Dialogue through the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). Under his presidency, India is expected to host more than two hundred G20 meetings across the country, starting in December 2022. The G20 Leaders’ Summit at the Heads of State/Government point is scheduled for 9-10 September 2023 in New Delhi.

The G20, or Group of 20, is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s leading evolved and emerging economies. Together, the G20 accounts for 85% of global GDP, 75% of foreign industry and two-thirds of the world’s population, making it the main forum for external economic cooperation.
