Sabre Corporation and Oman Air announced Tuesday at the World Passenger Symposium (WPS) a renewed long-term agreement for the airline to achieve its strategic goals.
The agreement includes a multi-year renewal of Oman Air’s SabreSonic passenger service system (PSS) and a further multi-year extension of its global distribution formula agreement. Advance in your virtual transformation.
By renewing its exclusive PSS agreement and making an investment in Sabre’s Digital Connect APIs, Oman Air aims to advance its virtual retail strategy, drive profit expansion and develop self-service capabilities. Digital Connect will also help Oman Air drive its virtual transformation and bring its products to market quickly, providing scalability and flexibility through its virtual touchpoints, such as its online page and mobile app.
“A new retail technique is needed for everyone in the ecosystem to succeed in a highly competitive landscape,” said Roshan Mendis, chief commercial officer of Sabe Travel Solutions.

The renewed distribution agreement allows Oman Air to continue to succeed in Sabre’s valuable global buyer network, while ensuring Sabre-connected buyers have access to the airline’s full fares and content, adding accessories.

“On the distribution side, our proposal to integrate the NDC API with the Saber GDS would allow our partners to make optimal decisions for our customers. Oman Air recently announced that it will enroll in the Oneworld® alliance until 2024.
“The intelligent nature of SabreSonic PSS brings scalability and flexibility to Oman Air’s expansion for long-term integration with Oneworld®, and we will work in combination to pave the way for this transition,” Mendis added.
