The National Nurses Union first declared a labor dispute last month, saying the heavy workload of nurses prevented them from providing adequate care to patients.
Nurses across Israel also went on strike last summer, protesting what they said at the time: poor race conditions, heavy workload, and low-quality care.
Also on Monday night, Ministry of Health statistics showed that 1,507 new coronavirus infections had been diagnosed that day.
There were 264 other people in serious condition because of the virus, 80 of them with fans, according to ministry figures. Another 122 were in moderate condition, others with mild or absent symptoms.
Of the 52,003 who had infections since the start of the pandemic, 29,434 were active.
There are no new deaths, and the national death stream remains at 415.
