The committee said more batches of pre-trial detainees will be released next week.
Tarek El-Awady, a member of the committee, said on his Twitter account that another 1,040 people in pretrial detention have been released, as well as 12 prisoners who have benefited from a presidential pardon.
The committee also praised their collaboration with Attorney General Hamada El-Sawy and Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik to secure the release of the detainees.
In addition, the committee said it won several councils on which names were eligible for pardon. These names were submitted through political parties and the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR).
Many young people, as well as a large number of hounds, were released, the committee added.
The committee, for its part, its impartiality and objectivity, and that its project is aligned with the National Human Rights Strategy.
Since the reactivation of the Presidential Pardons Committee in April, President El-Sisi has also pardoned several high-level political activists who had been sentenced to maximum sentences, including Hossam Mones, Yehia Abdel-Hady and Hisham Fouad.
The Pardons Committee, which was originally formed in 2016, is an advisory framework for the president who receives advice on names for pardon. The final decision on eligibility for pardon rests with the president.
