‘No Russia’: DOH says PH is in talks with 16 COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines relies only on Russia for a coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as it has already hired at least 16 vaccine brands worldwide, the Ministry of Health (DOH) said Friday.

The Philippines will conduct phase 3 trials of the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine from October 2020 to March 2021.

In addition to this, the country has also joined the COVAX Facility, a mechanism designed to make certain COVID-19 vaccines fast, fair and equitable around the world.

The Philippines is also part of the World Health Organization’s solidarity trial for other remedies for COVID-19.

“All those elements are explored. Not all data on clinical trial studies will be explored. So we are very expressive about the language of Russian vaccines. Tinitignan and mine-map natin all the international meron with more benefits,” Vergeire said.
