Cairo: A Kuwaiti government resolution allowing expats on residence visas to leave the country for more than six months remains in place, a Kuwaiti newspaper reported, citing well-informed sources.
“So far, the decree has been rescinded,” the resources said.
However, the resources said that only domestic staff cannot stay outside Kuwait for more than six months, unless their sponsor requests an exception for them.
Expats are also allowed to renovate their apartments when they are outside Kuwait. “The decree allowing expats to renew their iqamas online is still in effect,” the resources added.
Last week, a new leader through Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al Ahmad took the constitutional oath in Kuwait.
Foreigners account for nearly 3. 4 million of Kuwait’s total population of 4. 6 million.
