SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) is encouraging citizens to download the NM Notify app and report positive COVID-19 home tests on the app. About 760,000 new Mexicans already use the app to be notified if they are more likely to have exposed status, allowing them to reduce the risk to their loved ones, see a doctor at the right time and stay home.
The app uses Bluetooth generation to talk to other phones that have the app enabled. Then, if one of the users checks for a COVID-19 infection, all users who have been in contact with the infected user within 14 days will receive an exposure notification imaginable. The app then guides users on the next steps to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
The NM Notify app is nameless and completely protects users’ privacy. No non-public knowledge of the app is collected. The app is widely used in many states and around the world. According to the knowledge of Google and Apple, two downloads of the app can prevent you from an infection.

“The Department of Health strongly encourages all new Mexicans to use the NM Notify app on their mobile device to report any positive tests at home. When activated on a smartphone, the app alerts Americans when they have been exposed to someone who has verified that they are inflamed with COVID-19,” said David R. Scrase, M. D. , acting Secretary of Health. “This app automatically creates a touch search. The state plans to continue employing the NM Notify app in the long term, as it has a wonderful outlook for managing the spread of COVID-19, as well as any long-term outbreaks.
New Mexico will continue to assess COVID-19 statewide by tracking trends such as: geographic and demographic trends, wastewater tracking, hospitalization reports, ventilation use, and mortality rates, which are more effective benchmarks for this phase of the pandemic, primarily due to increased use of internal testing. This makes the number of instances and positivity rates incomplete.
In addition, DOH will no longer use the online self-report tool for immediate COVID-19 home testing on its website. Self-reported knowledge represents what the Department considers an incredibly small fraction of overall positive COVID-19 home tests in the state. Self-reported instances do not meet CDC’s definition of a case shown, and as such, DOH cannot refer them to CDC. Therefore, they cannot include those instances in the weekly epidemiological reports available here: https://cv. nmhealth. org/epidemiology-reports/.

DOH strongly recommends getting a flu shot and staying up to date on COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. It’s getting the flu shot and the Omicron booster at the same time. Public fitness equipment and pharmacies will offer vaccines free of charge. .
