SAO PAULO (AP) – Neymar and Philippe Coutinho were selected for the Brazilian national team on Friday in the lead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru.
The team’s announcement comes after FIFA relied on national groups that Europe-based players would be available for external service amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Brazil will face Bolivia on October 9 and Peru on October 13.
Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina are among the 10 most sensitive countries in the world in terms of cases shown of COVID-19.
The first rounds of South American qualifying were originally scheduled for March, but were first postponed to September and then taken to October.
