New Zealand recorded thirteen new cases of COVID-19 overnight, leading to fears that the country may be blocked until October.
Health director general Dr. Ashley Bloomfield said Friday that two of the new ones were in Tokoroa, 200 kilometres from the outbreak in Auckland.
Tokoroa instances are connected to a circle of members of Auckland relatives who tested positive for the first time this week, prompting an unforeseen outbreak after 102 days without COVID.
All new instances are connected to the existing cluster with the exception of one, which is in the hospital, that is still under investigation.
Two of Friday’s new instances are similar to Americold’s frozen garage facility, bringing the total number to thirteen and the auckland number to 19.
This led the aptitude government to check that the virus had spread to frozen food shipments.
Five direct instances are workers, while seven others are members of the circle of relatives of inflamed staff. The corporate garages refrigerated is waiting for effects for 14 other workers.
