The centre is part of the largest network of diagnostic services created in British history. In Scotland, it includes six driving service sites, seven transit sites, 21 cellular units and the Glasgow Lighthouse Laboratory, which works 24 hours a day to process samples.
In Scotland, the UK government provides all COVID testing and outdoor testing processing of the NHS. Approximately two-thirds of all daily tests are conducted through the UK government on Scottish fitness services.
Tests must be booked electronically online in advance at www. nhsinform. scot/check-and-protect, or by calling 0800 028 2816. People only reserve an electronic check if they have symptoms of coronavirus (high fever, new and continuous cough, loss or replacement of the sense of smell or taste).
