MINSK, Nov 8 (BelTA) – A new Russian drug for the treatment of COVID-19 is now available in the Belpharmatiya public pharmacy network, BelTA reports, mentioning the press service of the Ministry of Health.
The antiviral drug Skyvira is produced through the company Biokhimik and is now on sale in all pharmacies in the public pharmacy network. Skyvira is a prescription medicine.
It should be noted that the drug comprises a mixture of active ingredients nirmatrelvir and ritonavir. These ingredients target the main protease of SARS-CoV-2.
The Ministry of Health added that this drug will be used to treat outpatients. The drug will lessen the effect of the virus and prevent hospitalization, speed recovery and minimize the severity of post-COVID syndrome.
