Bahrain has brought a new expat paint card, according to local media.
The Bahrain News Agency reports that the resolution was announced at a press conference on Monday. He also announced that employee registration centers will be established across the country and that eligible citizens will be able to apply for permission at those centers.
This resolution comes a month after the announcement of the abolition of the flexi permit. According to Gulf Daily News, the document allowed incumbents to settle for freelance work with employers.
Qualified and eligible personnel with valid residency, who face charges for breaking the law, can apply for the card at employee registration centers, which will soon be established across the country.
The card will come with an individual’s professional skills and other non-public details.
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) held the joint press conference with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on the Expatriate Worker Registration Programme at the Isa Cultural Centre.
The director general of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Nouf Jamsheer, said the new permit would be connected to “professional standards”. This means that you would have to provide evidence of your qualifications and talents for employment.
The card will have a code QR. Al scan this code, all data about him and his skills would be available.
He noted that citizens charged with crimes would not be allowed to apply and that other eligible individuals would have to pay a payment to factor in and renew the permit, fitness insurance and exit payments, in addition to the monthly payment and registration fee.
The amounts will be announced at a later date, with the locations of the new registration centres.
