New Oman-China commemorative stamp launched

Muscat: Oman Post, in collaboration with Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published a stamp commemorating the 40 years of relations between Oman and China entitled “40 years of diplomatic relations between Oman and China”. The seal was launched in a rite attended by Mohammed bin Nasser Al Wahaibi, The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Ali bin Khalfan Al Jabri, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Li Lingping, ambassador of the People’s Republic of China and Abdul Malik Al Baluchi, CEO of Oman Post.

The black-and-white seal with a red spot illustrates the close dating between the Sultanate and China. This seal, a component of a commemorative series, is available in the category of two hundred baisa.

The designer of this edition, Shamsa Saud Al Ghatrifi, brought the iconic Great Wall of China and one of Oman’s many forts as a backdrop, with others from both countries in the foreground.

Oman Post, who is selling a thriving network of philatelists in Oman, suggested philatelists electronically book the new edition by emailing it to philatelic@omanpost. om.

Oman Post’s ongoing efforts to factor commemorative stamps in a timely manner are commendable. Recently, the Oman Post Office factored a stamp in honor of fitness workers, titled “Oman Faces Corona”. Another series of colorful stamps released a few months ago, illustrating Oman’s Musical Heritage.
