ALBUQUERQUE, N. M. (AP) – The new health report in New Mexico showed 98 new cases of COVID-19 and two more deaths on Sunday.
The newest figures from the New Mexico Department of Health bring state totals to 24,396 and 745 deaths.
It is idea that the number of infections is much higher because many other people have not been evaluated and studies recommend that other people can become inflamed with the virus without feeling unwell.
For most people, the new coronavirus causes moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that go away within two to three weeks.
For some, especially the elderly and others with existing fitness problems, this can lead to more serious illnesses, adding pneumonia and death.
According to Johns Hopkins University’s knowledge analyzed through The Associated Press, the seven-day moving average of new instances in New Mexico has declined over the next two weeks, while the moving average of deaths has remained almost unchanged.
The moving average for new instances increased from 198 new instances on August 7 to August 138 on August 21, while the moving average of deaths was just under five on August 7 and just over five on August 21.
