New Mexico reports 266 new cases of coronavirus, 7 deaths

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico’s fitness report 266 new showed cases of COVID-19 and seven more deaths.

Data published Sunday through the State Department of Health raised the total number of coronavirus cases to 19042 with 614 deaths.

Bernalillo County has led all counties in new instances and 4 of the latest reported deaths have occurred in that county.

The number of infections is thought to be much higher because many other people have not been evaluated and studies recommend that other people may become inflamed with the virus without feeling unwell.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that go away in two to three weeks.

But for some, especially the elderly and others with existing physical disorders, this can lead to more serious illnesses, which adds to pneumonia and death.
