According to NJ. gov, “In 1787, New Jersey became the third state to ratify the U. S. Constitution and the first state to sign the Bill of Rights. In 1790, Trenton officially became the capital of the state of New Jersey. William Livingston has become the head of state of New Jersey. the state’s first governor. So here’s some context in case you didn’t know :).
