IBIZA may once again be home to “the biggest nightclub in the world” as plans for a multi-million pound renovation have been approved.
The €8. 2 million renovations are part of a program to rejuvenate the island’s tourist attractions.
Led through the Ibiza Tourism Planning Commission, the allocation will allocate 23 million euros to the renovation of existing tourist attractions.
One of the beneficiaries is Privilege, a nightclub that closed in 2019.
The venue recently holds the Guinness World Record as the largest nightclub in the world, with a capacity of 10,000 people.
Formerly known as “Ku Club,” the venue now reads “COMING SOON,” and along with the renovations, it has sparked hope among revelers around the world.
The improvements will allow for greater water flow and solar energy.
The club had already been granted permission to expand its surface area by up to 15% in 2020.
The special authorisation granted to venues dealing with the effects of Covid-19 will allow the club to modernise its offer and increase its size, as long as it does not increase its capacity.
According to a Facebook post uploaded to Priviledge’s page, paintings have been in progress since June of last year.
Construction is currently under the control of Grupo Empresas Matutes, after Bahía de San Antonio S. A acquired the majority in 2022.
It is the parent company of Palladium Hotel Group, which manages a chain of luxury hotels.
