New Dutch coronavirus highest last week: health authorities

AMSTERDAM – New demonstrated cases of coronavirus have almost doubled in the Netherlands in the week following 2,588, fitness officials said, leading to a steady increase since blocking measures were reduced in early July.

The new cases registered in the week through Aug. 4 were up 95% from 1,329 in the week through July 28, the National Institute for health said in its weekly report published on Tuesday. (Reporting by Toby Sterling; Editing by Alison Williams)
