New Covid strain discovered in QC

The PGC announced in its bulletin, dated August 13, that knowledge of the validation examination of its chain transcription polymerization verification kits (RT-PCR) for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome of Local Evolution (SARS-CoV-2) showed that the G614 strain, along with the D614 strain, generalized in some of the samples taken in Quezon City.

“We now report the detection of the D614 variant among nine randomly decided positive Covid-19 patterns collected in Quezon City in July.In June, D614 and G614 were detected in a small pattern of positive cases,” the PGC said.

In its previous research, the center stated that the maximum variants of SARS-CoV-2 were D614, which is believed to be the original or wild gene of the disease.

He added that the G614 strain would possibly cause a higher rate of infection in individuals, there was still no evidence that it was more communicable than the original D614 strain.

“The mutation also doesn’t seem to have particularly clinical results either,” the PGC said.

Undersecretary of Health Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the PGC does not examine a nationally representative pattern and there is no false evidence that the mutated strain called D614G is more communicable.

“Wala pa rin tayong ganung solid evidence to say na’yan talaga mangyayari (we have no solid evidence to date that this will happen),” Vergeire said.

He added that the PGC is advancing its studies on the virus strain in the country.

Meanwhile, Vergeire said a panel of experts examined the case of Interior Secretary Eduardo Ao, who admitted that he had inflamed with Covid-19 on Saturday when he was previously swollen and asymptomatic.

“Nagkaroon kami ng pag-uusap with our technical experts as soon as he announced that it was positive again. We get the main points in a lab na pinag-testan no longer and get the express values, which would show ContaminationArray..be a positive talaga (We discussed it with our technical experts as soon as he announced it was positive again. We get the main points of the lab where he did the test and get the express values he would show if it was contamination or if it was positive),” Vergeire said, adding that they would also compare Ano based on his clinical symptoms and his history of infection.

He added that it was not correct to call the Year’s instances a “reinfection,” as the clinical network had not reached any conclusions or showed evidence of the imaginable reinfection of Americans recovered with Covid-19.

Vergeire added that the World Health Organization had already drafted clinical rules on the so-called “immunity passport” of those recovering from Covid-19, which stated that there is still insufficient evidence of the so-called immunity of antibodies opposed to the virus..

“Hindi nga natin masisiguro na ‘yung mga antibodies would stay so long in its framework to protect it from a new infection.Kahit na’ yung mga naging positive in naka-recovery na, wala po tayong immunity passport (We can’t be sure that your antibodies would stay in your body for so long to protect you from a new infection.Even those who have positives and are recovering, there is no immunity passport,” Vergeire said.
