SINGAPORE: New COVID-19 groups have been known in 3 other dormitories of foreign personnel who in the past had been eliminated from the disease.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported saturday (September 5) that new groups have emerged at Cochrane Lodge 1 on Admiralty Road West, Mandai Lodge 1 at 460 Mandai Road and Tuas South Dormitory at 1 Tuas South Street 12.

Of the 34 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Singapore on Saturday, 29 lived in dormitories.

All foreign dormitories were declared COVID-19-free through the Ministry of Labor (MOM) on August 19, adding separate blocks in specially constructed bedrooms that are used as insulation or quarantine facilities.

Human Resources Minister Josephine Teo said last week that the new COVID-19 discovered in dormitories was the result of regime tests.

Workers who remain in dormitories and those in the structure, marine and procedural sectors, as well as those who stop at the structure sites, shall go through regime tests every 14 days.

Employers will also need to ensure that their staff has conducted a COVID-19 check in the last 14 days through Saturday, the government said.Those who haven’t won’t be able to go back to work.
