PARIS – The French fitness government reported 7,017 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, a dramatic increase from 4,982 on Tuesday, and the third time since the outbreak began that the count exceeds 7,000.
The number of others hospitalized for the disease, still well below the April 14 peak of 32,292, highest for the fifth consecutive day at 4,632.
The number of other people who died in France from COVID-19 infections has risen from 25 to 30,686, and the cumulative number of cases is now 293,024 (report via Benoit Van Overstraeten; edited via Catherine Evans ).
