Kirklees City Council plans to open a new Covid-19 check next week.

It states that for several months it has been identified that more Covid-19 verification services should be provided in or near the Huddersfield centre.

But from Monday, it will be built in the Percy House (Queen Street South) car park.
Starting Tuesday, there will be a pilot opening between 14 a. m. and 5 a. m. and Wednesdays from 10 a. m. to 5 a. m.
Then, starting Thursday, it will be fully open between 8am and 8pm and will be operational seven days a week.
First, you’ll only check other people who have booked a check until the lab delay is reduced.
Once this happens, anyone who takes a check will receive it, and they expect it to take two to three weeks.
It is not a driving service and other people will have to walk there.
There are already two mobile test units (MTUs) in South Kirklees (Holmfirth and Fartown).

Kirklees Councilman Cahal Burke (Lib Dems, Lindley), who led the crusade for more sites, said: “Since Huddersfield has been known as a ‘hot spot’ and a subject of stricter restrictions, this is welcome news.
“This is a genuine fear and challenge for thousands of Huddersfield citizens who do not have access to personal shipments to access check sites beyond.
“The citizens of Huddersfield once lost again in terms of physical attention, this change of scenery will now allow Americans to take a check to help the city and citizens. “
