Enner Valencia and Cody Gakpo continued their surprising World Cup runs by scoring either in a 1-1 draw between the Netherlands and Ecuador that leaves Group A unresolved.
WATCH THE COMPLETE REPEAT OF THE DUTCH MATCH v Ecuador
Yes, the Dutch are in the cat bird’s seat with four problems and no win, eliminated Qatar is still on the run, but Ecuador wants a draw against Senegal after the Teranga Lions beat the hosts last Friday.
Gakpo temporarily gave the Dutch the lead with a sensational goal, however, Ecuador more than deserved their draw and will feel able to beat the Senegalese without Sadio Mane on the last day of the organizing match.

Qatar is out. That’s all we know about Group A as the Netherlands and Ecuador finished this game with 4 points, one more than Senegal.
But the Netherlands, of course, are the only ones who have faced this Qatari team without winning. While the hosts will play for pride and country, there is little explanation for why the Dutch won’t get the draw. Show them in the knockout stages.
And that makes this draw impressive and explains why Ecuador has not just scored a goal at the moment that would seal their fate in the tie against Senegal.
Cody Gakpo gave the Dutch his great goal, who delivered the escape functionality that many expected from him in this World Cup. The goal was so remarkable that the Dutch finished the match with an overall expected gross goal of 0. 07.
But they had 54% of the ball, because Ecuador was in a position to have it and sustain it, but also to counterattack when Holland needed it.
Ecuador took thirteen shots opposite the two Dutch and recorded an xG of 1. 64, while Pervis Estupinan joined Valencia to bring danger. LAFC’s Jhegson Mendez was also strong and raised his eyebrows from midfield.
Frenkie de Jong recovered for Holland and Man City’s Nathan Ake also strong. Davy Klaassen would be the national player of the first tournament in a World Cup without Gakpo.
But without a winner, there is a lack of tension on the last day of the match, whenever Qatar appears.

Memphis Depay has enough compatibility to get out of the bank as opposed to Senegal, but it doesn’t have enough compatibility to get started. Elsewhere, LVG eliminated Matthijs de Ligt and Vincent Janssen and brought Davy Klaassen. His 3-4-1-2 formation seemed a bit disjointed in his inaugural match.

Ecuador switched to a 5-4-1 and Enner Valencia recovered from a knee injury to give La Tri a big boost. Their captain scored two goals against Qatar and thus their most sensible goalscorer of all time. The forged base that Moises Caicedo provides them in midfield, allows Valencia, Gonzalo Plata and Michael Estrada to release attacks and Ecuador is a very damaging team against it.

The U. S. Men’s National Team The U. S. had, if we’re honest, the kind of World Cup he’s been waiting for in Qatar this winter.
Gregg Berhalter’s Yanks exited the level of the organization before wasting a great program in the playoff rounds, providing functionality that was energetic, sometimes naïve and at no point a real damage to the USMNT’s reputation.
But the satan is in the details, and the federation will have to dissect not whether the team could have done better this month, but whether it has delivered better performances.
[ MORE: Christian Pulisic | reaction Gregg Berhalter’s reaction]
There have been absolute successes, such as the way the team has stepped forward in each of the successive games of the organizing stage. And how its stars, Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams, were basically used in the most productive way imaginable for their talents. Sergino Dest, Antonee Robinson, Tim Ream and Tim Weah have arguably had the most productive stretches of their careers. All this is real.
But there were also pitfalls. A timid team was rarely led by the underside of Wales at the time of the tournament’s 1-1 opening draw. Weston McKennie was asymmetrical and missed several opportunities to give the United States an advantage over England. And the rotation that Berhalter talked about in qualifying. it was almost non-existent, giving rise to a team that seemed cooked and on the verge of exhaustion at the end of the tournament against Holland.
What does all this mean for the program? It depends on the powers that be, however, we will let you know how we think the player has fared, according to the minute played, in Qatar. American football” and care only about tangible results.
Sean Johnson: N/A (0 minutes)
Ethan Horvath: N/A (0 minutes)
Joe Scally: N/A (0 minutes) — What could this team have done against the Netherlands by resting Dest and Robinson a little more? Berhalter obviously didn’t think he could knock out without them, and they were great. But they were also dead until the end and Scally’s game for the club said he could very well have slipped on the underwater table.
Cristian Roldan: N/A (0 minutes)
Jordan Morris: N/A (14 minutes)
Shaq Moore: N/A (20 minutes)
DeAndre Yedlin: N/A (31 minutes)
Kellyn Acosta: N/A (40 minutes)
Jesus Ferreira: N/A (Forty-five minutes) – It would be ruthless to qualify Ferreira in his forty-five minutes against the Netherlands, as he asked to lead the line as a centre forward while making his World Cup debut in an attack that would be his first in front of a crowd since his season at FC Dallas ended on Oct. 24. Can Ferreira overcome or with Haji Wright, Josh Sargent, Jordan Pefok, Ricardo Pepi and a host of new faces to make two?World Cup rosters? His MLS career gave him the foundation for that.
Giovanni Reyna: N/A (57 minutes) – The tournament had cried out for a combined player like Reyna (or Aaronson), but Berhalter felt he was getting enough of Tim Weah and a rotating cast of center forwards plus Brenden Aaronson off the bench. It is a shame that we have to ask ourselves if he could have done something with Wales urgently for the draw and not hunt threatened in the first game, or start with Weah as a centre forward opposite the Dutch. If Gregg Berhalter will stay In fact, and who knows if the coach is interested in that?He has a big task to regain acceptance of a player who deserves to be vital at Pulisic’s point in 2026 if he wasn’t already.
Cameron Carter-Vickers: 7 (90 minutes) – The Celtic star did what he asked to do against Iran: stay and move the ball, and intimidate someone from time to time. It will be attractive to see if a new manager values full-back more than Berhalter, as CCV one of Celtic’s Player of the Season applicants in his SPL career last season.
Brenden Aaronson: 6. 5 (105 minutes) – The Leeds guy wasn’t bad at all. You can see why Berhalter appreciates him as a super submarine, but Aaronson also feels like a player who directs his conflicting parties from the opening whistle. Could he be one of two Aaronsons on the 2026 team?
Haji Wright: 6. 5 (135 minutes) — There have been good and bad moments for Antalyaspor’s center forward, the most productive obviously being his goal of getting the Yankees into an opposite Netherlands striker. What is the long-term program?for Wright, 24?You might see him start four years or go unnoticed, but let’s celebrate a tall, strong young man who went from the LA Galaxy academy to the New York Cosmos and Schalke at four other European clubs to reach a World Cup. . .
– Joe Prince-Wright (@JPW_NBCSports) December 3, 2022
Josh Sargent: 6. 5 (163 minutes) – The plot is there if you will: Sargent is bigger when he runs like a maniac in the city of Norwich and is helping wreak havoc with a Teemu Pukki guy or making grunt paintings for Milot Rashica. But Sargent has proven to be a good enough hurdle for USMNT and is maturing through the game for the club and the country. He will most likely start in opposition to the Netherlands if it weren’t for the ankle injury that has plagued him all week. Where will it be (and Norwich) when 2026 arrives on planet Earth?
Weston McKennie: 6 (275 minutes) – The Persistent Tournament Questions for ‘What If?’ Typesit will be how the tie would have shaken off if Pulisic buried his chance in the 3rd minute, and how the 0-0 draw with England could be. It would have ended if McKennie hadn’t managed to convert two chances. adding an early one that comes close to Gimme’s prestige. McKennie has at times been the center and engine of the team. His hobby seeps into the room and in the field. The Yankees winning the group.
Walker Zimmerman: 7 (278 minutes) – Yes, Gareth Bale’s penalty is poor. But Zimmerman has shone at the highest levels at every level of his career since directing the Dallas backline with Matt Hedges. His 15 clearances, which is what he’s there for: ranking in the Top 20 of the tournament and his thirteen long finished balls show how far his overtaking has come since his MLS debut.
Sergino Dest: 7 (309 minutes) – Once again, let’s not let the topical bias of their very poor defense against their home country, the Dutch, overlook a sensational stage of organization. Dest played his two games in the American shirt against England. and Iran, keeping talented wings clean and keeping him behind. He finished just ahead of Robinson and Musah with the team’s highest success in dribbling with five.
Christian Pulisic: 8 (315 minutes) – Blocked 11 times almost absurd in 315 minutes, the Pennsylvanian Pulisic earned his moments of sunshine and paid for it with a stopover at the hospital to treat a pelvic contusion. Pulisic regretted a shot in the third minute stored by the Dutch, but assisted in three of the Yankees’ goals, which – check the notes – were all his goals. He led the team in key scoring contributions, assists and assists, completing only Adams in the duels won.
– Nicolás Mendola (@NicholasMendola) December 3, 2022
Timothy Weah: 7 (320 minutes): If Weah were to play centre forward, we might have to hit him for failing to convert some tricky chances. Fonseca: He was explosive and his goal against Wales was one of the best in recent USMNT memory. Weah was particularly good at aerial play for a winger, and his frames on the right combined very well with Dest to give left-backs a great amount. of headaches
Yunus Musah: 7. 5 (345 minutes) – No fuel at the end of the Dutch bank, yes. But has he made one more player for his move price in this tournament than Musah? The boy from Valencia will certainly have inspired the clubs in his home country. of England as his exceptional ball progression and also made 8 tackles. By the way, he left his adolescence in the middle of the tournament. It is possible that we will see it for 3 more cycles of the World Cup.
Antonee Robinson: 8 (359 minutes) – It’s going to be tricky for readers who see this play near the final whistle of the Dutch defeat to watch the “8” and not think of Robinson absolutely wasting his way on the third Dutch goal, it would still be a shame to obscure confidence in his tournament. “Jedi” has been a relentless component of the show’s good fortune in Qatar and looks a lot like the show’s most productive left back. Eddie Lewis and DaMarcus. Beasley was competing for ownership of the advantage position? Its seven interceptions show a clever reader of the game that is now more than electric power and industry.
Matt Turner: 7 (360 minutes) – I’m not going to lie: There were moments against Wales – basically in ball control – that made us doubt the resolution to leave Zack Steffen at home (not unlike Ethan Horvath or Sean Johnson). But that’s a thing of the afterlife because Turner’s ability as a stopper, everything we knew, has been added to a huge improvement in distribution since we saw him leave New England for Arsenal. the USMNT starter, right?
Tim Ream: (360 minutes) – Il

Fulham’s Ream teamed up with clubmate and national team Robinson to make left-back a very strong full-back until the final stages against the Netherlands. His team-leading 274 passes, his 16 long balls followed only Adams and Turner, and his 11 clearances were only 4 short of Zimmerman’s team total. The U. S. The U. S. has a long history of laughing paths to the team and Ream’s career path, whether short-term or long-term, is almost as smart as that of Steve Cherundolo and Jay DeMerit.
Tyler Adams: 8 – 360 minutes – He arguably made a significant mistake throughout the tournament and helped Memphis Depay score the Netherlands’ first goal, but don’t let the bias of the recent cloud your judgment on which captain and player is most likely to lead the home team in 2026. The Leeds United boy led the team in tackles with 11 and treated the controversy off the pitch like a 35-year-old veteran. Health will be a treasure for the MLS prodigy.

England and Senegal face each other in the knockout stages of the World Cup with a lot of pressure on the Three Lions and almost none on the Terranga Lions.
There is a breath of agitation in the air.
LIVE STREAM ENGLAND VS SENEGAL
Gareth Southgate’s England have been forged so far in the World Cup, finishing the best part of Group B with minimal discomfort as they are unbeaten, but are still capable of making a tough and outplayed display as we saw against the USA. UU. La attacking ability of this English team can at least improve its fourth place in the 2018 World Cup.
As for Senegal, Sadio Mane controlled very well to get out of Group A, but this challenge will be huge for the defending champions of the CAN. Can Aliou Cissé’s team be strong enough defensively to give themselves a chance to galvanize the clash?
[LIVE: 2022 World Cup schedule, how to watch, scores, center]
Here’s everything you want for England vs Senegal
As far as England is concerned, they have so many glorious attacking players that it’s so complicated to put them all on the pitch at the same time. It is also difficult for Southgate to find the right balance in the team. When England fell, they were almost impossible to understand and Harry Kane was the leading author and the biggest goal threat. But he has yet to score in this tournament, as Rashford, Saka and company did the damage. Defensively, John Stones and Harry Maguire have also been fine and it will all depend on whether England are brave enough to break out of the traps and help their star striker win safely at half-time. England has no injury issues, Ben White has returned to the UK for non-public reasons, so the Three Lions team now has 25 members who are in the most sensible form. It makes preparing to play against England a nightmare, as they can deploy so many other combinations and formations in midfield and attack.
Senegal has nothing to lose, which is very damaging in a direct elimination attack. They have plenty of play alongside them with Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mfinishy keeping them together defensively and at the other end of the pitch Ismaila Sarr has intervened in attacking in the absence of his superstar Sadio Mane. If Mane hadn’t been ruled out of this tournament due to injury, we would probably be talking about this Senegalese team as a possible semi-finalist. If England make a mistake or underestimate them, Senegal will make them pay, but they will miss Idrissa Gana Gueye in midfield for this adjustment because he is suspended. There are also other injury issues for Senegal, as Cheikhou Kouyate disappeared after injuring his ankle in the first game.
