NETCE: Nigeria and Egypt seal $30 million in Cairo

The first edition of the Nigeria-Egypt Conference and Trade Exhibition (NETCE) concluded in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, with the signing of $30 million partnership agreements between business organizations of the two countries.

The President of the Egyptian Association of African Entrepreneurs (EABA), Dr. Yousrey El Sharkawi, and the President of the Nigeria-Egypt Cultural and Socio-Economic Forum (NESCEF), Mr. Mahmood Ahmadu, at the end of the three one-day conferences, organized through the two organizations in collaboration with the Nigerian Embassy in Cairo.

According to a statement from the president’s executive assistant Abdul-Razaq Musa, El Sharkawi told a press conference that six corporations of the two countries agreed to cooperate in the construction, medical apparatus and engineering industries, as well as agriculture, mining, generation. and real estate sectors.

He praised the concerted personal sectors of the two countries for taking ambitious steps towards further economic cooperation.

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Public Works and Housing, Ibrahim El-Yakub, who attended the convention and visited some privately developed housing complexes in Egypt, expressed Nigeria’s willingness to cooperate with Egypt in the housing sector.

El-Yakub noted that Nigeria requires a minimum of 200,000 housing units a year.

Praising the results of the conference, Nigeria’s ambassador to Egypt, Nura Abba Rimi, noted that agreements reached through personal entities will inspire more business and business opportunities to gain advantages from the citizens of both countries.

He pointed out that both countries are endowed with natural and human resources, as well as a very enterprising and avant-garde young population.

Ahmadu, the president of NESCEF, thanked EABA and the Nigerian Embassy in Cairo under whose auspices the convention was a success.
