Nestlé in talks to sell its pizza in France

The Swiss giant is in talks with Italian pizza supplier Italpizza for its foundation in Caudry, northern France.

In a statement, Nestle said a deal may close “in early 2024” after consulting with staff.

In March, the global food manufacturer announced the closure of its factory in the wake of the scandal.

A month later, the organization showed that it had reached an agreement with those affected by the outbreak.

Dozens of young people fell after eating infected food and two died. Last April, the Paris prosecutor’s office opened a homicide investigation. The health government ordered a halt to production at the factory five days later.

According to Nestlé, the results of an internal investigation at the factory showed “the most likely hypothesis: contamination of the flour by the E bacteria. Coli. STEC coli. “

The Caudry plant had two lines, and last December Nestlé gave the green light to reopen the line that was not affected by the recall.

However, the company decided to close the factory due to declining sales.

Caudry has been excluded from an agreement reached through Nestlé to manage its pizza business in Europe with PAI Partners.

Italpizza has six factories that supply more than 50 markets. Last year, the company, owned by Dreamfood, bought two companies: Italian frozen food organization Mantua Surgelati and ice cream maker Italgelato.
