The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reiterated that there is no express cure for COVID-19, adding, however, that some test drugs have shown promising effects and have not yet been validated for use.
The Center said this when it reported the accumulation in the number of COVID-19 instances in the country since 288 on Monday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 44,129.
The NCDC, which reported it on its official Twitter account, also said it had not approved the use of hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19’s remedy in the country.
“In Nigeria, the use of hydroxychloroquine is limited to clinical trials.
“Please #TakeResponsibility and self-medicate, ” he said.
The firm warned that a higher percentage of other people were inflamed with COVID-1.
The Center also noted that the common use of hands with soap under running water is one of the most productive tactics to prevent the transmission of diseases such as COVID-19 from one user to another or after touching infected surfaces.

“This election period, #TakeResponsibility through adhering to the rules for us and our enjoyments of COVID-19, adding physical distance, the use of hand sanitizers and the use of a mask,” he advised.

“Then, to protect yourself and everyone around you, wear a face mask, keep your physical distance, wash your hands and respect all the rules on the NCDC website,” he says.
An update on the virus in the country, the firm said 8 new deaths were reported on Monday, bringing the total number of deaths nationwide to 896.
The NCDC said the new infections were recorded in Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and thirteen states.
He said Lagos is the most sensitive on the list with 88 new cases, while the CTF reported 25 new infections.
Others included Kwara, 33, Osun, 27, Enugu, 25, Abia, 20, Kaduna, 17, Plateau and Rivers, thirteen each, Delta, 10 and Gombe, 8.
The firm noted that the least instantiated states come with Ogun, 4, Oyo, 3, Katsina, 1 and Bauchi, 1.
He said the Lagos state government had reported on the recovery of 10946 COVID-19 patients who were being cared for at home.
According to him, 44,129, 20,663 released and 896 deaths in 36 states and the territory of the federal capital have been confirmed to date.
The fitness firm noted that a multisectoral National Emergency Operations Center (NSC), activated at Level 3, would continue to coordinate the national reaction across the country.
