The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shown 252 new outbreaks of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in the country.
The NCDC, which announced the disclosure on its official Twitter account on Tuesday, said a National Multisectoral Emergency Operations Center (COU), activated at Level 3, has continued to coordinate the nationwide national reaction.
The public fitness firm said the other 252 people in the country raised the total number of infections in the country to 52,800, with 1,007 deaths and more than 39,000 others returning.
The NCDC said Plateau crowned the list of states with new instances with 50, while Enugu was 35.
Others are Rivers 27, Lakes 26, FCT 18, Kaduna 18, Ekiti 10, Kano 10, Taraba 9, Anambra 8, Edo 8, Oyo 8, Delta 7, Ogun 6, Abia 5, Bayelsa 5, Ebonyi 1 and Osun 1.
He noted that so far, the firm had analyzed 383,130 samples, noting that another 707 people had recovered from COVID-19 on Tuesday and had been released from all isolation centers in the country in the more than 24 hours in the country.
“Our departures (Tuesday) come with 528 network recoveries in the last 4 weeks reported through the state of Ondo according to new case control guidelines,” he said.
The fitness firm noted that the country had recorded 3 new COVID-19 deaths in the country.
Meanwhile, the NCDC stated that hands were one of the leading causes of the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
“Take responsibility; Wash your hands with soap with running water for 20 seconds.
“Don’t teach your loved ones and those around you the importance of smart hand hygiene,” he advised.
