NCDC confirms 162 new COVID-19 infections, totaling 54905

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shown 162 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country, bringing the number of cases shown to 54905.

The NCDC did so on its official Twitter account on Saturday.

Nigerian news firm (NAN) reports that Nigeria has continued its week of recording fewer than two hundred new instances of COVID-19 according to the day with 162 new instances shown on Saturday.

The signature 3 deaths had been recorded in the country.

The NCDC noted that to date, 54,905 have been confirmed, 42,922 have been released and 1,054 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and CTF.

According to the Public Health Agency, all 162 are reported in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (TTF).

He said Lagos state leads with 53 and followed Gombe state with 21 new infections.

Other states with new ones included Oyo (19), Delta (12), Ondo (11), Plateau (10), Ebonyi (9), FCT (6), Kwara (6), Kaduna (5), Rivers (3), Ogun (2), Anambra (2), Imo (2) and Ekiti (1).

The NCDC stated that one of the tactics that spread by the virus was to touch infected surfaces and then touch the face with unwashed hands.

“Make sure that all surfaces are cleaned with soap and water or disinfectants in normal periods to prevent transmission of the virus.

“Observation of physical distance reduces contact with drops when an inflamed user sneezes or coughs.

“Assume a duty to eliminate the threat of COVID-19 spreading dressed in a face mask, observing physical distance and washing hands frequently.

“It has been shown that dressing in a mask in combination with common hand washing and physical distance measurements is helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” he advised.

The public fitness firm has revealed that the effects of COVID-19 control take longer than expected.

“While you’re waiting for your result, isolate yourself from your friends and family. Besides, don’t take care of yourself. It may be put at risk,” he says.

Meanwhile, the firm said that one of the main results of the pandemic is the development of investment in physical security.
