KUWAIT CITY, October 6: The semi-annual report of the Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) that it recently reviewed through the Council of Ministers, knew five obstacles and negative problems faced by the authority in its work, and proposed recommendations to succeed over them, reports the daily Al-Jarida.
He said the recommendations were endorsed through the Council, which in turn appealed to the government involved to implement them. The appeals pointed out that the first of these setbacks is the continuous delay of some government in updating the knowledge of the people covered. through the monetary disclosure provisions in a timely manner, in accordance with the text of Article 20 of the Implementing Regulations of the Authority, which would eventually disclose the subjects of penalty for late submission of the monetary disclosure statement.

The appeals added that the impediment at the moment was the delay in the approval of laws through the National Assembly, and the Council of Ministers advised to continue monitoring the approval of the applicable legislation, specifically the law on conflicts of interest and reforms to the Penal, while the third impediment was the weak coordination between the government in the joint projects of Kuwait’s strategy to strengthen integrity and combat corruption. The advice was to urge implementing agencies through the Higher Committee to speak frequently with technical committees to submit the required reports and documents on time.
