OTTAWA, September 2, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – NAV CANADA today announced that it will repair scheduled night air navigation to Red Deer, Alberta and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan from September 3, 2020.With this announcement, normal night service will now be Repaired across the country.
In May 2020, in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, NAV CANADA temporarily suspended night air navigation facilities at 18 facilities, adding air traffic towers, flight data stations and locations that obtain airfield advisory service from remote airports.These measures have reduced the exposure of NAV CANADA’s main workers to the coronavirus, while ensuring that essential air navigation facilities remain available when they so wish.
After considering the regional public fitness environment and operational requirements, the suspension of the night air traffic transitory has gradually been lifted in all 18 facilities.
