Sharon Baxter, Executive Director of CPHA, said: “It is vital that you and your loved ones know that grief is a journey; a component of you will love and miss the deceased. We are informed to live with loss and pain in some way that maintains and honors our connection with the deceased, but does not restrict our ability to joy, emotion and a meaningful life. In those difficult times, we would possibly be physically distant, but we are emotionally, spiritually, and socially connected through our pain. . “
For many of us, pain is each and every facet of our lives; physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively and spiritually. It can also our meaning and goal in life; and this truth has created a desire to ensure that data and resources on palliative care and advanced care plans are available to all Canadians; resources are provided to those who want them at the right time and as a component of their choice, and that resources meet their needs for care.
