Anyone who has not been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to a conceivable exposure and who has symptoms deserves to be tested for COVID-19. You can book an appointment electronically online or call Tele-Care 811 and you’ll have to isolate while you wait. to check the results.
People who are fully vaccinated and have symptoms are asked to download a COVID-19 home test kit at the rapid point of care (rapid POCT). They want to isolate themselves if they have been told to do so through public service. Bless you.
All positive effects of point-of-care controls will be shown by a laboratory-performed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
It can take up to 14 days to test positive after being exposed to COVID-19, so even if results come back negative, you should continue to self-monitor for any symptoms and get tested immediately if any develop.
Also, avoid visiting places with vulnerable populations, such as nursing homes, correctional facilities, and shelters, during this 14-day period.
For anyone who is fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to a conceivable exposure, Public Health recommends tracking symptoms for 14 days after the conceivable exposure and taking a COVID lab test if symptoms develop.
There is no need to isolate yourself while waiting for test results.
If there are no symptoms, you can pick up a rapid test kit and aren’t required to isolate.
Anyone involved in COVID-19 can take a self-assessment online.
Public Health says symptoms include fever above 38°C, new or worsening cough, sore throat, runny nose, headache, new onset of fatigue and shortness of breath.
In children, symptoms also manifest with purple marks on the hands and toes.
If you have any of these symptoms, return home, call 811 or your doctor, and follow the instructions.
