Muscat: Oman’s capital, Muscat, suffered a power outage on Monday, among other provinces in the country, affecting the energy, telecommunications and aviation sectors.

Authorities have yet to give an explanation of why the blackout, which the enforcement authority reported at 3:13 p. m. local time, saying the power grid would be restored within 4 hours.

Oman’s airports said the forced disruption is expected to have an effect on Muscat International Airport operators. The telecoms regulator said facilities had been affected.
