MANILA, Philippines – Daily active COVID-19 cases in Muntinlupa rose from 45 to 96 in the past week, from June 27 to July 3, according to the city’s health council.

Meanwhile, in a statement, fitness employee Juancho Bunyi attributed the backlog of active COVID-19 cases in the locality to domestic transmission, those who tested positive with mild symptoms.
The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) and the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) have been put on alert.
However, despite the backlog of active cases, Muntinlupa remained with a low threat of COVID-19 transmission with a positivity rate of only 4%, lower than the regional rate of 8. 2%.
Meanwhile, Bunyi also announced that citizens between the ages of 12 and 17 can now get their reminders months after their dose of the moment.
Booster injections for minors will be administered at Ayala Malls South Park, Sucat Health Center, Cupang Health Center, Laguerta Health Center (every Tuesday and Thursday) and ng Muntinlupa Hospital.
Meanwhile, as of July 4, the COVID-19 Tracker of the Ministry of Health indicated that the number of COVID-19 cases nationwide was 3,709,386, with 10,094 active cases, 3,638,690 recovered and 60,602 deaths.
