Mudiame Institute trains 40 fellows to deepen in Local Content

More than 40 students, sponsored through Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) and its components, graduated from Mudiame University in Irrua, Edo State, as part of local content measures in oil-producing communities.

The vocational education program designed for the host communities of the Assa North-Ohaji South fuel allocation in Imo State.

Speaking at the graduation rite in Owerri, Imo State, the Managing Director of Mudiame International Limited, Professor Sunny Eromosele, said that the education imparted through the International Mudiame Institute at its permanent site at Mudiame University in Irrua, Edo State and overseen by Dormanlong Engineering Limited. with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Eromosele said capacity progression remains the most productive way to unlock the country’s economic prosperity, especially at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the country that domestication, bottom-up integration and the progression of local content will have to be a priority for countries and organizations. .

He said the company made about 20 years to invest in the development of human capacity, aware of the desire to empower the workforce of today and tomorrow.

“Having learned that skill progression is a currency that will continue to be appreciated, today we have the subtle vision of offering the skills needed for technological progression in Nigeria through the creation of a leading destination for the supply and progression of skills in the oil and gas structure. and aeronautical and related sectors,” Eromosele said.

He said graduate students were well trained to supply facilities in the oil and fuel sector and can also serve as salespeople running their own businesses, adding that vocational education would help advance the country’s local content by 70 percent.

“This initiative will greatly enhance the role of oil-producing communities in oil and fuel operations.

“This will decrease the import of expatriates and the country will maintain its foreign exchange and particularly decrease unemployment in the region,” Eromosele added.
