The president of the General Assembly of the state of Enugu, Chief Edward Ubosi, recounted his jubilation near death with COVID-19 after recovering from the virus.
Chief Ubosi, at a Thanksgiving service held Tuesday in the Assembly House complex in gratitude to God for his recovery.
The president, who has never made public his prestige as COVID-19, declared that his survival is a fact of God because the disease has no known cure. He said god had given him a momentary chance to restore his fitness even when he had given up hope of survival.
Ubosi, who described his recovery as a wonderful miracle, suggested to the public that he exercise all the protective precautions stipulated through the Nigerian Centers for Disease Control (NCDC), noting that COVID-19 is real.
He thanked his colleagues and in the House of Assembly for his prayers, which he said cured him of the disease.
After the death of Chief Chijioke Ugwueze, representing the Isi-uzo constituency, Ubosi said he was heartbroken by his contribution to the 7th Assembly and the state.
Ubosi said the meeting would resume general activities, adding that significant problems would be addressed to ensure the proper functioning of the government.
The Enugu State Assembly closed by decontamination on 20 June after the sudden death of Chief Ugwueze, who died of an unknown disease suspected at the time of coVID-19.
