New Delhi: With 64531 more people tested positive in one day, the COVID-19 count in India increased to 2767273 on Wednesday, while recoveries exceeded 2 million, bringing the recovery rate to 73.64%, according to the knowledge of the Ministry of Health of the Union.
The death toll rose to 52,889 and another 1,092 people succumbed to the disease 24 hours a day, according to knowledge updated at 8 a.m.
The case rate was reduced to 1.91%. There are 6,76,514 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country, representing 24.45% of the total number of cases, while the number of recoveries is greater than 2,037,870.
India’s total COVID-19 exceeded 2 million on 7 August.
Of the 1,092 new deaths, Maharashtra reported the highest number of deaths with 422 thirteen9 follow-ups in Karnataka, 121 in Tamil Nadu, 88 in Andhra Pradesh, 70 in Uttar Pradesh, 55 in West Bengal, 35 in Punjab, 20 in Gujarat thirteen from Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, 12 Delhi and Jharkhand and 11 Rajasthan.
The Ministry of Health noted that more than 70% of deaths are due to comorities.
