MONTGOMERY, Alabama (AP) – The University of Alabama has recorded 531 cases of COVID-19 on campus since the start of the fall semester last week, according to figures released Tuesday through the university’s formula, as officials try to take strong action. student parties, bars and other gatherings that can simply spread the coronavirus.

Social gatherings are prohibited on and off campus and non-unusual spaces in dormitories and women’s fraternity and sorority houses are closed, according to the new guidelines. Auburn University has also noticed an increase in the number of cases since academics returned to campus on August 17, according to figures published by the university.
The university reported that 202 academics and five workers on Auburn’s main campus tested positive for COVID-19 between August 15 and 21. Since mid-March, there have been 545 cases between academics and staff, the maximum of those Americans was not on campus until August because they were taking courses remotely or running remotely, according to the university’s website.
