More than 3,000 Covid-19 patients buried in Oddamawaddi cemetery: Minister

While revealing that another 3634 people who succumbed to COVID-19 were buried in the Oddamawaddi cemetery during the pandemic, Health Minister Keheliya Rambuwella told parliament that the government at the time never embraced racism.

In response to an oral statement raised by MP Rauff Hakeem in the House, the minister rejected the former’s accusation that the government had intentionally chosen the members of the task force appointed to investigate the factor of the last rights of Covid-19 patients.

“Only one user in the task force opposed the burial of those who succumbed to Covid-19. Therefore, I cannot agree with his allegation,” the minister said.
