More than 2100 people in viral quarantine in Turkey

More than 2,100 patients shown and suspected with coronavirus are being quarantined in dormitories and shelters across Turkey, the country’s internal ministry said Saturday.

“As of September 26, a total of 2157 more people are remote in dormitories and hostels with a capacity of 92,790 more people,” read in a ministry.

Some 689 of these others have been quarantined for violating self-de-insulatation requirements, while 1,359 of them are transit residents, such as seasonal agricultural staff and structure staff, he added.

According to the ministry, another 3524 people have been quarantined, voluntarily or for violating regulations, since 9/11, when Turkey imposed new measures opposed to COVID-19.

These included mandatory quarantine at government-run facilities for others who violate self-insulating regulations.

In a notification sent to Turkey’s 81 provinces, the Ministry of the Interior announced that patients shown and suspected of COVID-19 who violate isolation or cannot isolate well will be placed in dormitories and shelters appointed by local governors.

These measures are part of Turkey’s efforts to combat infections, reaching 311,445 on Friday, adding 273,282 cures and 7,858 deaths.

Worldwide, COVID-19 has killed nearly 990,000 more people in 188 countries and regions since last December.

The United States, India, Brazil, Russia and Peru are lately the most affected countries.

More than 32. 6 million CASES of COVID-19 have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 22. 51 million, according to figures compiled through Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
