December 30 (UPI) – Andrew Tate, the arguable online influencer and former kickboxer known for his misogynistic views, has been sentenced to pre-trial detention for 30 days following his arrest in Romania on charges of organized crime, rape and human rights. It deals with at least six women.
The 4 suspects were remanded in custody on Friday, a spokesman for Romania’s organized crime unit told the Guardian and the New York Times.
The Tate brothers, who in Romania, have dual American and British citizenship.
“The Matrix sent their agents,” read a tweet posted Friday through Andrew Tate’s account after his arrest.
Speculation has grown online that the Romanian government was likely informed that Tate was in the country after engaging in an online fight with teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Tate tweeted to Thunberg on Tuesday asking for her email address to send her a list of the cars in her collection and their displays, to which she replied: “Yes, please inform me. Email me at [email protected]. “
After the announcement of Tate’s arrest, 19-year-old Thunberg tweeted: “This is what happens when you don’t recycle pizza boxes. “
Tate’s arrest recorded by police and shared through Romania’s Organized Crime Directorate and shows officials raiding the house. The footage also gave the impression of showing weapons recovered by police, adding a gun, a sword and giant knives.
Andrew Tate and his brother were accused of “misrepresenting their goal of marriage” and having cohabiting relationships with alleged victims before transporting them to buildings in Romania’s Ilfov County.
Officials called the Tates’ moves a “loverboy method” and said their patients were “sexually exploited by members of the group” who forced them to perform “pornographic demonstrations” as a percentage on social media.
