EREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on tour in Madrid, met on July 6 with Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno.
As reported by ARMENPRESS through the press service of the MFA Armenia, congratulating each other on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the status quo of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministers noted with satisfaction that during the more than 3 decades, effective cooperation between Armenia and Spain has been shaped on the basis of classical ties and non-unusual values.
The importance of the interlocutors for the activation of political discussion and high-level mutual visits between the two countries, expressing the mutual will to take measures to deepen cooperation.
The parties exchanged concepts on the full realization of cooperation in the fields of industry and economy, industry, shipping and infrastructure, renewable energy and data technology. The parties agreed that the organization of trade forums and the expansion of ties between the trade network will herald bilateral cooperation in those fields.
Within the framework of the activation of human contacts and mutual popularity between Armenia and Spain, the strengthening of ties in the tourism framework was also highlighted. Emphasis placed on expanding educational exchanges and opportunities to examine each other’s language and culture in both countries.
Minister Mirzoyan highly valued the Spanish Government’s decision to open a resident in Armenia and expressed confidence that it will give new impetus to inter-State relations.
During the meeting, reference was made to the cooperation of the two countries on multilateral platforms, as well as within the Armenia-EU partnership.
Issues of regional security and stability were also discussed. The Armenian Foreign Minister presented to his Spanish counterpart the scenario in the Nagorno-Karabakh shock zone and the position of the Armenian side on the processes aimed at peace and stability in the region, as well as on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Ararat Mirzoyan presses the mediating role of the CO-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to sell the agreement procedure of the Nagorno-Karabakh clash and a lasting solution.
